The Team
Jason - Managing Director
Jason, having fostered multiple successful businesses, is also a seasoned a professional in the motorsport world for over a decade. To ensure he maintains peak fitness, he turned to cycling, becoming a connoisseur in piecing together masterful bike builds down to every last detail. Let Jason transform your wildest fantasy builds into an unbelievable reality.
John - Director & Store Manager
With over a decade of experience in business management, John found solace in motorsport and consequently cycling in his pursuit of speed. With the help of cycling, John was able to overcome some health hurdles giving him a new lease on life that lit the fire that is his love of cycling today.
With an eye for detail and data, he is often found analysing his post ride stats and is a disciplined cyclist with a strict regiment. He has aspirations to continue his cycling journey by getting stronger, faster and hopefully work towards some racing on two wheels as he has done on four wheels!
John has an obsession with striking a perfect harmony of function and aesthetic form when it comes to building a bespoke bike and is at your service to do the same for you. For John, it is about understanding what you want out of your riding experience and then piecing together a package that fits that individual need.
To top this off, John makes a mean coffee with the same level of detail that he puts into servicing your customer needs. Come and visit to taste the complimentary coffee and learn more!
Jack - Sales
Jack has been in the cycling community in Sydney for a number of years, working at both independent as well as flagship chain stores. He has a flair for the more unusual builds and has a collection of bikes, most of which are in a perpetual state of modification. Jack appreciates building a relationship with each customer and is the go-to person for tracking down parts and accessories or building your dream bike, no matter how unorthodox.
Richard - Workshop
With a background in triathlon and road cycling, Rich races regularly at Lansdowne and Eastern Creek crits, has raced track, and is just as happy on a gravel ride or rolling through a social bunchy with coffee and baked goods on the agenda. He knows how a bicycle should sound and feel on the road — and he'll know immediately when something isn't right.
Rich has a passion bordering on obsession for getting the best performance from every bike that comes through our door. An analytical mind drives a detailed, methodical approach to problem solving and fine tuning your machine to achieve maximum performance.
Before bikes became his profession, Rich spent 30 years as an engineer and technical consultant on some of the world's largest railway projects. When COVID arrived and offered a moment to reassess, the answer was already waiting at home — all 16 of them (bikes that is). With several years now spent in some of Sydney's leading bike shops working with premier brands, Rich brings technical excellence and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction to O'Spire Cycling.
And then there are the tools. Rich loves his tools almost as much as the beautiful machines he works on. Abbey. PB Swiss. Enduro. Wheels Manufacturing. It has to be the right tool for the job — no compromise, no shortcuts. Come in, grab a coffee, and let him take you on a tour of the workshop. He'll be very happy to show you his latest tool purchase and explain exactly how it's going to keep your bicycle running flawlessly.
